St. Mary’s Fish and Game Association requires a worker to do general duties at Nimrod’s Campground for an 8-week period, 30 hours a week.  Rate of pay is minimum wage. The responsibilities of the student employee will be the advertising and organization of activities and to assist the campers as necessary.  The student will also have responsibilities for general maintenance for a clean and safe environment for campers.

2017 Fishing Derby at Nimrods!

The Municipality of the District of St. Mary’s will be hosting a family fishing derby here at Nimrod’s Campground on Saturday, June 10th from 930am – 1pm.

Standard fishing rules will apply and those over 16 must have a valid license.  Prizes will be available for the largest fish caught in different categories.


Nimrod’s Campground – 2017 Manager Position

Nimrod’s Campground manager is employed by the Saint Mary’s Fish & Game Association, and will report to the president, the directors, and the bookkeeper.

The manager is responsible for all aspects of the campground, including answering telephone inquiries, checking in guests, sales of ice, firewood, snacks etc., handling cash, keeping accurate records, janitorial duties, grounds keeping and general maintenance.

The applicant needs to take pride in their work and in the presentation and success of the campground. Nimrod’s campground has 60 sites, most with power & water.

Personal Attributes Include:

  • Greeting and processing campers in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Going ‘above and beyond’ to ensure the camper’s experience is a memorable one.
  • Being knowledgeable in the local area to promote tourism.
  • Ensuring a high level of security is kept for the safety of campers and the grounds.
  • Walking the grounds and being visually present and interactive with guests.
  • Enforcing rules and regulations in a professional, calm, assertive way.

Required Skills:

Basic computer skills required. Must be able to answer emails, update Facebook page, and actively promote the campground by attracting guests and caravans.

Must be physically capable to complete the required work in all aspects of running a campground including grounds maintenance, garbage pick-up, cleaning washrooms, painting etc.

Must be a handyman, capable of general maintenance, minor repairs on plumbing, machinery, lawn equipment, buildings etc. Basic carpentry skills are required.

Must be a problem solver to identify and prevent issues before they happen, repair problems as quickly as possible and report unresolved issues to president/directors.

Must be able to train, supervise and work with summer student.

Knowledge of a second language, a background in management, grounds keeping, sales or marketing would be considered as assets.

Student Job Opportunity

The St. Mary’s Fish and Game Association has a position for a summer student to perform general duties at Nimrod’s Campground for an 8-week period, 30 hours a week. Rate of pay is minimum wage. The summer student will be the responsible for assisting in the organization of campground activities, providing assistance and direction to campers within the park, and assisting with bookings by phone, email, and social media. The student will also be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for campers.

Nimrods Campground

Applicants must be motivated, capable of self-direction, possess good communication skills, be reliable, and have own transportation. Gloves and safety boots are required, other safety equipment will be supplied.

Opening May 15th For The 2016 Season

Nimrod’s Campground is pleased to announce that we will be opening for the 2016 season on Sunday, May 15th.

Our new campground manager is currently working hard on completing renovations to the main building and getting the last few details perfect for the spring season.
